Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame Nominations


Thank you for considering a nomination to the Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame. The Association’s mission is to honour and celebrate Canadians for outstanding contributions to the Agriculture and Food Industry and to publicize the importance of their achievements to Canada.

The nomination must include a biographical sketch of the Nominee and a statement of his or her contribution to agriculture. This nomination form will help guide you through this process. Please read over the nomination guidelines carefully and complete the form with the up most consideration for accuracy.

To be eligible for recognition, a person must be deemed to have made an outstanding contribution to Canadian agriculture.

Guidelines

  • Nominations must be made by Individual or Corporate members of the Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame Association. A membership form is available at the end of this application.
  • Nominations must be received by May 1 to be considered in current year.
  • Nominators must be prepared to cover the cost of the nomination. This cost is $4,000 for a painted portrait or $2,500 for a photo portrait. Nominators shall supply pictures or photos of the nominee.
  • All nominations shall be submitted to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Association

 

After May 1st, nominations are reviewed by the Portrait Committee named by the Directors of the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame Association. The names of all nominees, the biographical sketches and other information pertaining hereto shall be made available to the Portrait Committee to be reviewed by them for selection of the person or persons most worthy of recognition.

The Directors shall select the portrait artist to paint or photograph the nominees. They will also select the photo to be used and arrange the mounting.

In making selections, cognizance shall be taken to vision, skill, and enthusiasm over a period of years or a lifetime in addition to the importance of the impact on the national agricultural economy resulting from the nominee’s work.
